Primary Responsibilities
Expectations
Interns are an integral part of the Public Policy team and provide significant support to the work we do. The internship requires a minimum of 20 hours per week and a commitment to high quality deliverables and productive communication in a virtual environment. FS Vector will teach top level skills, share knowledge, provide constructive feedback, and answer questions in a supportive, non-judgmental environment to aid in the success of our future colleagues.
*Note: this internship can be in-person in Washington D.C. or remote*
Skills
Qualifications:
- Rising undergraduate senior or junior working toward a degree in Political Science/Government, Public Policy, Economics, Journalism, Business or related field
- Graduate student working toward an JD, MPP, MPA, MBA, or other relevant degree
- L1 or L2 with and interest in financial services, compliance, public policy, or business strategy
- Previous internship experience on Capitol Hill, a federal agency, relevant financial services companies, media outlet, or in other political or government settings
- Experience conducting research and performing analysis, writing and distilling complex ideas and concepts into an easy to understand form
- Familiarity with business, compliance, politics and the legislative process, expertise and interest in a relevant policy field is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as a member of a team
- Problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, competing priorities
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work minimum 20 hours per week
