Raj Date

Raj Date is a co-founder of FS Vector and a Senior Advisor.

Mr. Date is a venture capital investor and philanthropist based in Washington, DC and Colorado Springs, CO. He serves as the Managing Partner of Fenway Summer LLC, a venture investment firm focused on financial services, and the Trustee of the Fenway Summer Charitable Trust. Mr. Date also serves on the Board of Directors for a number of innovative firms, including as the lead independent director of Circle, the global digital asset infrastructure pioneer.

Until January 2013, Mr. Date served as the first-ever Deputy Director of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He helped guide the startup agency’s major strategic, operational, and policy initiatives. He played a number of leadership roles at the Bureau over time, including leading the organization as the Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury.

Mr. Date entered public policy from the private sector. He was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank Securities, where he led the firm’s investment banking coverage for the largest American banks. Before that, Mr. Date was Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Development at Capital One Financial. He began his business career in the financial institutions practice of the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company.

He is a graduate of the College of Engineering at U.C. Berkeley (highest honors) and the Harvard Law School (magna cum laude).
