 The Advisory Team

The Summer Associate will work with our Advisory Team, which advises fintech and other financial services clients on a variety of topics, including compliance with applicable regulations, such as licensing requirements, financial crimes compliance, and fair lending laws, among others. The Summer Associate will work on client matters across the fintech community, including payments, neobanks, blockchain, wealth management, and lending.

 The Role

Summer Associates at FS Vector will have the opportunity to learn about the financial services sector, public affairs, compliance programs, and the current political and regulatory environments. The Summer Associate will get hands-on experience with startup founders, practitioners, and regulators, while providing significant support to the Advisory team across ongoing client work. This is a great opportunity to learn what it’s like to work in a fun, fast-paced, and challenging environment.

Summer Associates on our Advisory team should display an interest in financial services regulation and are energized by the opportunity to work with emerging technology companies. Successful Summer Associates are high-achieving students with a strong focus on research and analysis, who are strong communicators and display a strong intellectual curiosity.

Seasonal Associate positions at FS Vector require a three-month commitment. The Summer Associate internship will run from June 2, 2025, to August 22, 2025. While we can be flexible with start and end dates, we are seeking individuals who are able to commit to a 12-week internship. The expected work schedule is Monday to Friday, with an anticipated workload of 35 to 40 hours per week. Please note, we are only considering candidates based in the DC area at this time.

Qualifications

• Law student based in the Washington, D.C. area with an interest in financial services regulation.
• Research experience with a proven ability to analyze information and distill complex concepts into an easily digestible format.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Comfortability and willingness to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize multiple, competing priorities.
• Previous internship experience at a financial services regulatory agency, trade association, Congress, or law firm’s financial services practice is a plus.
